A lovely time

Today I had the extraordinary experience of shopping for groceries with only my little Caleb. The trip seemed serene; blissful; a bit of heaven on earth as I carefully inspected each produce item instead of the traditional method of a mother of four (stuffing fruits and veggies into bags with one hand while passing out snacks with the other).

I laughed and chatted with my new friend behind the deli counter as she sliced my baby swiss. I stepped in time to the beat of the music playing overhead as I casually strolled through each aisle. I stopped to sample a warm baguette slice topped with pesto and asiago. I love how being a mother helps me appreciate the simple things of life. Thank you to Megan for this wonderful gift!

Couldn't be better

Caleb turned 3 months old yesterday and is quite possibly the best baby I've ever known. He rarely cries, falls asleep on his own without a wimper, sleeps through the night most nights, is happy to lay or sit almost anywhere while I rush about, and laughs and smiles when he hears our voices. He brings so much joy to me... to hold him and hear his newly found laugh.

I don't remember it being so easy with my other babies; maybe I'm finally starting to figure out the mothering adventure! I am thankful every day for my sweet baby Caleb. He is a pleasant natured, content little man.

5 Years Old

Our sweet little girl turned 5 this month! She seems to have grown up so fast. Audrey is a beautiful person full of grace and creativity. She brings calm and peace to our household. She helps out so much that we often wonder how we would survive without her! Happy birthday my love.

Audrey invited some of her close friends over for a ballerina birthday party (of course). The girls came dressed in their dance clothes and we played dance games and made bead bracelets. Here are some shots from the celebration:

Friendship Party

Brendan had a "Friendship Party" at school in honor of Valentine's Day. He was busy making valentines for his sisters while his classmates ate mounds of candy.

We are so pleased with his teacher, Mrs. Dukes. She's wonderful!
