An exciting day! School cancelled, employers let workers go home... we spent the day awaiting the huge hurricane coming directly toward us.
Fortunately our preparations were thorough and it's actually been more exciting than scary for us. The kids were especially excited about sleeping in our closet together. We made a sleeping bunker to protect the little slumberers from potential broken windows due to the storm. They had a blast playing with their new flashlights and watching the storm trackers on the news.
We will most likely be without power for a while, but will post again when things are up and running. Thank you for your phone calls and concern. All is well! We love you.

You know, I didn't mind Ike. It's the power outages that I don't like! We'll see you back in Houston soon...we're in Austin visiting family. I'll bet your kids loved their little sleepover!
We are so glad you guys are alright... just can't wait for you to get your power back!
Hi Julianne-
Hope you don't mind me stopping by. I found your blog off of Danielle's, I think. I never did get to write you to tell you what a wonderful job you did at Standards night for Young Womens. You were so good at sharing your testimony and letting the girls see a whole other side of what it is like to not have the gospel. I was really touched and appreciate your example to them. Thanks again.
Kelsey
